"WALK IN THE PARK!"
A One-Time, 2-Hour Walking Tour through Deer Haven Park!
Reserve your spot today on Deer Haven Park's FIRST EVER “A WALK IN THE PARK TOUR!” YOU’RE INVITED to come join us on a new and exciting autumn adventure on Saturday, October 14 from 9-11am for this unique 1.5-mile walking tour. Rain or shine, so don those sneakers (or rain boots), optionally bring walking sticks, binoculars, cameras, and water. Tick repellant is included in your $30pp reservation price. A short bus ride will take us deep into the park and pick us up at the end of our hike which will be predominantly on the inner roadways.
We will peek the interior of a never-before-viewed ceramic storage building, adventure a newly revealed dispossessed family home foundation, see the “Q area” rear entrance up close, and check out a personnel bomb shelter. The beaver dam will be accessed via a grassy pathway, and a rarely visited storage igloo in the Alpha section will be entered. In addition, we’ll get to admire the Park’s unique wildlife as they chose to make an appearance.

BEWARE of Bad Directions!
THE PROBLEM-
When you type Deer Haven Park into your mobile device or GPS unit for directions, you will often be given an "alternate route" through the former Depot. If the route includes "W. Romulus Rd.", "E. Patrol Rd." or "W. Patrol Rd." DON'T TAKE IT! There is NO entrance to Deer Haven Park on NY-96 and NO public route across the former military base. Because Deer Haven Park is on part of the former Seneca Army Depot, the GPS program thinks you can drive through it. Unfortunately, you can not.
THE SOLUTION-
Instead, take one of the other routes. OR Enter Sampson State Park into your device. We are located on NY-96A, (not 96) just 2 miles North of Sampson State Park.
